Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
Welcome to Gordon West Public School – your child’s home away from home.
At Gordon West, we are committed to developing the personal best of every learner, ensuring each child reaches their full potential across all domains – Intellectual, Creative, Physical, and Social-Emotional. Our caring and supportive environment nurtures confident, resilient learners who are inspired to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
High-quality teaching lies at the heart of our school. Our teachers focus on differentiated classroom practice and explicit teaching, ensuring every student is supported and challenged.
Through collaboration between students, parents, and teachers, we uphold the highest standards, engagement, and a positive atmosphere where every student is recognised, appreciated, and supported. We celebrate our community’s cultural diversity through EAL/D support and inclusivity. Families are encouraged to actively participate in school decision-making and through the Parent and Citizens Association.
Students flourish in our Creative Arts programs – including dance, choir, and band along with a wide range of sporting opportunities that build teamwork, confidence, and coordination. Wellbeing initiatives such as the Student Representative Council, Peer Support, and Zones of Regulation foster leadership, resilience, and social success.
Our school values: Safe, Respectful, and Personal Best – guide all we do. I warmly invite you to come and discover why Gordon West Public School is an exceptional place to learn, grow, and thrive.
Learn and Advance
Kind regards,
Ellen Randall
Principal of Gordon West Public School
